Psychologists are licensed health professionals, regulated by provincial statute and governed by the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Psychologists practice within the framework of the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA). Regulation and licensing protect the public by ensuring that psychologists meet a high standard of qualifications, practice according to provincial regulations and a Code of Ethics, and are answerable to consumer complaints.
